Effect of time, spacing and depth of planting on gladiolus multiplication

The effects of planting date (15 October, 5 and 26 November, and 15 December) spacing (30x15, 45x20, 60x25 cm) and depth (2.5 and 5 cm) on the corm and corm yield of gladiolus Sylvia were determined in a field experiment conducted in Jorhat, Assam, India during 1999-2001. Planting on 25 October resulted in the highest number of cormels produced per planted corm (1.53), size (5.61 cm) and weight of corms (47.85 g), and number and weight of small, medium and large cormels.
