During 1995-2000, 259 samples of wheat leaf rust (Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici) were collected from different regions of Slovakia. These isolates were tested in the greenhouse on 15 near-isogenic lines of Thatcher each possessing separate individual Lr genes, and on 8 standard differentials. Based on the results race numbers were assigned.
