An experiment was carried out with Lohmann Brown laying hybrids to examine the effects of feeding a low-fat feed (LF, 12 g crude fat per kg as fed), a feed containing 150 g soyabean oil (SO) or 150 g palm oil (PO) per kg as fed, either separately or as a cafeteria feed (choice-fed group, LF/SO/PO), on voluntary feed intake and laying performance, on reproductive performance, and on egg quality. All diets were formulated to be isoenergetic.
