Effects of sealing materials and photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) on growth and vitrification of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) were studied. Best growth and development of plantlets were obtained from explants cultured on a modified MS medium containing 0.05 mg.L-1 NAA, 0.01 mg.L-1 BA, and 2.5 g.L-1 gelrite. Culture conditions were 16-hour photoperiod, 120 micro mol.m-2.s-1 PPF for 30 days.
