Efficacy of weekly test day yields during early lactation in predicting first lactation milk yield in Holstein-friesian x Sahiwal crossbred cows

Test day milk records at weekly intervals (7th to 91st day) were utilized to predict first lactation milk yield in 1158 HF x Sahiwal crossbred cows of seven genetic groups (depending upon the level of HF inheritance) maintained at two military dairy farms in North India. Heritability of test day yields showed an increasing trend up to the 6th week and remained uniform subsequently.
