Estimation of avoidable losses caused by various insect pests in maize

Field trials were conducted in Salooni, Himachal Pradesh, India during 1991 and 1992 to assess the avoidable losses caused by various insect pests of maize. Cutworm (Agrotis ypsilon was found to be the major pest of maize, causing 46.69% yield losses.
