Evaluation of the susceptibility of cowpea genotypes to cowpea weevil, Callosobruchus maculatus Fabr. (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)

Evaluation of the susceptibility of cowpea genotypes to cowpea weevil, Callosobruchus maculatus Fabr. (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)

Documentos Embrapa Meio Norte (56): 49-53

Seeds of 16 genotypes of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp.) were evaluated in relation to their susceptibility to the attack by cowpea weevil, Callosobruchus maculatus Fabr. Biological assays were carried out to determine the following parameters of the cowpea weevil life cycle: number of eggs laid, percentage egg hatch on seeds, percentage adult emergence, adult weight at emergence and mean developmental time.
