Feed management and significance of storage of roughage for dry season in dairy farming

This experiment was conducted to determine the actual dairy farming conditions in 7 dairy farm households in Khon Kaen City, Thailand focusing on the feed basis and the significance of storing roughage for the dry season. Results of the survey revealed that during the dry season roughage became scarce and feed was mainly limited to rice straw and concentrates. Since this type of feed is not balance the productivity of the dairy cows decreased and reproductive disorders tend to occur.
