Field and laboratory studies on the effects of a neem-based plant extract on the feeding activity of the large pine weevil, Hylobius abietis

Field and laboratory studies on the effects of a neem-based plant extract on the feeding activity of the large pine weevil, Hylobius abietis

The BCPC Conference: Pests and diseases, Volumes 1 and 2 Proceedings of an international conference held at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel, Brighton, UK, 18-21 November 2002: 45-50

Field and laboratory studies were carried out from September to October 2001 to assess the effects of a neem-based plant extract on the feeding activity of the large pine weevil H. abietis in a commercial sitka spruce plantation. Field trials near Aberfoyle, Scotland, evaluated the effects of extract concentration, rate, and treatment area on feeding activity. Laboratory experiments assayed the effects of the extract on feeding activity in choice and no-choice situations.
