Genetic architecture of some quantitative traits in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss)



New Botanist 29(1/4): 195-199



Ten parents viz., C8-438, P8R-2, Vaibhav, RL-8902, Narendra Rai, Varona, RJ-13, RCC-4, Rohini, and PR-8958 and F2's in 10x10 diallel mating design constituted the experimental material. Diallel analysis highlights the role of additive and non-additive gene action for all traits under study except days to 50% flowering, seeds per siliqua, branches and plant height where additive gene action played a role. Overdominance was expressed through average degree of dominance.
