Genetic parameters for traits scored at the First Stallion Inspection (FSI) in The Netherlands and the genetic relation with competition performance were estimated using an animal model. Data from 1994 to 1999 were used, covering scores on 7 inspection traits from 2357 stallions. Competition results of 23 897 horses for dressage and of 22 881 horses for show jumping during the years 1981 to 2000 were available.
