Genetic variability of some physiological and agronomic traits in grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.)

Field experiments were conducted in Gorgan, Iran, on S. bicolor genotypes to determine the broad-sense heritability and expected genetic advance, and examine the relationships, of grain yield with 11 physiological traits related to developmental periods, vegetative growth, growth rate, grain filling rate, and partitioning to the grain. Genotypes exhibited significant differences for all traits except grain yield.
