Genetic variations of foxtail millet, Setaria italica (L.) P. Beauv. and their geographical distribution

Genetic variations of foxtail millet, Setaria italica (L.) P. Beauv. and their geographical distribution

Bulletin of the National Institute of Agrobiological Resources (16): 73-143

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a summer cereal crop mainly distributed in Eurasia and Africa. To clarify its geographical origin and dissemination process as well as establish the regional priorities for collection and conservation of local cultivars, the genetic variations of foxtail millet and their geographical distribution were investigated based on the variations in seven agronomic traits, two phenotypic traits, and prolamin alleles.
