In 2000-01, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the economic importance of lettuce downy mildew (B. lactucae) on 7 summer lettuce cultivars (Lidija, Marija, Great lakes, Vanity, Dalmatinska ledenka, Ljubljanska ledenka and Lusiana), grown on or without black plastic mulch (0.06 mm thick), was studied.
