Growth comparisons among dipterocarp seedlings, wildings and cuttings in secondary forest

In order to assess the survival rate, growth and root behaviour of planted dipterocarp cuttings, two plantations of dipterocarp species produced from seeds, wildings and/or cuttings, were established. The preliminary results from 12-month-old, mixed dipterocarp enrichment plantings in Vernonia arborea dominated residual forest, and 43-month-old mixed dipterocarp enrichment plantings in Macaranga dominated residual forest of East Kalimantan, Indonesia are presented in this paper.
