Impact of drought on drymatter production and yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) during kharif season

An experiment was conducted in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India, during the 1989 and 1990 kharif seasons, to study the effect of drought on total dry matter accumulation (DMA), its partition into pod and pod yield. Seeds of groundnut cultivars TMV-2 and Robut 33-1 were sown on three dates (early, normal and late sowing) under rainfed and irrigated conditions. Plants were collected at fortnightly intervals starting from 15 days after sowing until harvest to estimate DMA and partitioning.
