Individual variability of metabolic indices in assimilative apparatus of Scots pine under conditions of industrial pollution

Individual variability of metabolic indices in assimilative apparatus of Scots pine under conditions of industrial pollution

Lesovedenie (1): 73-77

Studies were conducted in 1997 and 1999 in Karelia, Russia. Data on Cu, Ni, S, carbohydrates and phosphoric compounds, and chlorophylls a and b contents in pine needles are tabulated. Variability of up to 40% was observed in the contents of carbohydrates, phosphoric compounds and chlorophylls a and b, whereas in the absence of pollution such variability normally does not exceed 10-15%.
