Influence of manganese and iron application on yield and manganese and iron nutrition of wheat in a reclaimed sodic soil

A pot experiment was conducted to study the effect of three levels (0, 25 and 50 mg/kg) of manganese (Mn) and iron (Fe) as soil application on the yield and Mn and Fe nutrition of wheat on an intensively cropped Mn-deficient reclaimed sodic soil (pH=8.7, exchangeable sodium percentage=18 and DTPA extractable Mn=2.7 mg/kg). Grain and straw yields of wheat increased significantly at both levels of Mn application. Fe had no effect on yield.
