Influence of moisture deficit in different stages of onion (Allium cepa L.) organogenesis on seed plant morphogenesis, seed yield and quality

During 2000-02, in the vegetative grounds of experimental greenhouses of Plant Physiology Laboratory, Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture, onion (Allium cepa) seedlings were grown in vegetative pots with peat substrate. The effect of moisture deficit in the different stages of onion organogenesis on seed yield and quality was investigated. At moisture deficit in stages V to X, the number of onion inflorescence stems decreased. It was particularly obvious in organogenesis stage VII.
