Aubergine seeds are relatively short lived under ambient conditions. Aubergine Arka Shirish seeds were stored at ambient (16 to 35 degrees C), low (5 degrees C), and sub-zero (-20 degrees C) temperatures for five years. Seeds, which had 8.8% moisture, were packed in kraft paper, polyethylene, glass, and aluminium-foil-laminated pouches. Seed germination decreased to 50% after two years of ambient temperature storage.
