Inheritance of growth habit and leaf shape in mung bean

Indian Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding 63(2): 165-166

The inheritance of leaf shape and growth habit in mung bean was studied. Two local mung bean cultivars (A-20 and KGP-16) and a wild accession of V. radiata var. sublobata (Sub 17) were used as parental materials. The cultivars were determinate and had entire leaflets. Sub 17, on the other hand, was indeterminate and had sharply lobed leaflets. The parental materials were self-pollinated during 1998-2000. During the rabi season of 2001, Sub 17 was crossed with both cultivars.
