Isolation and bioassay of Phoma tracheiphila (Petri) Kanc. et Ghik. toxin

Isolation and bioassay of Phoma tracheiphila (Petri) Kanc. et Ghik. toxin

Journal of Turkish Phytopathology 29(2/3): 71-77

P. tracheiphila (Deuterophoma tracheiphila) toxin was partially purified and isolated, and standardized using tomato seedlings (cultivars 9099, H-2274 and ES-58) and shoot tips of lemon Kutdiken and sour orange. The toxin dilution at a ratio of 1:10 caused high mortality on all species. The ED50 value for tomatoes 9099, H-2274, ES-58, lemon and sour orange was at 1:50, 1:55, 1:70, 1:50 and 1:50 dilutions, respectively. Disease severity decreased at dilutions below 1:40.
