The productivity of mulberry (Morus alba Aobanezumi and M. bombycis Shinkenmochi)-pasture (orchard grass (Dactylis glomerata), tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne), red top and white clover (Trifolium repens)) mixtures and the nutritive value of mulberry leaves and shoots was investigated at the National Grassland Research Institute in Nishinasuno, Tochigi, Japan from 1997 to 1999. The pasture plants were sown among mulberry rows.
