Placentrex, a patent of human placental extract, was administered through the intravenous route for the induction of oestrus in heifers (n=30) and cows (n=40) of Jersey x Indigenous crosses (Jr x), and in heifers (n=43) and cows (n=6) of Holstein-Friesian x Sahiwal crosses (HF x Sh). The cattle were maintained at different localities in the suburbs of Assam, India. The HF x Sh group cows required a higher dose of Placentrex (15 ml).
