Morphological and physiological characteristics of the root system for wheat genotypes with high K uptake efficiency

A solution culture experiment was carried out with six wheat genotypes different in their K uptake efficiency to study the morphological and physiological characters and the kinetics parameters of K+ uptake of their root system. The genotypes highly efficient in K uptake, 92117 and Taihe 5025, were characterized by great root length, short root radius and large absorption surface of the root system, and by small Km and great Imax.
