Morphological oogenesis in the otu1 mutant of Drosophila melanogaster Meigen (Diptera: Drosophilidae)

Morphological oogenesis in the otu1 mutant of Drosophila melanogaster Meigen (Diptera: Drosophilidae)

Korean Journal of Entomology 32(3): 165-174

The sex-linked, recessive otu1 mutant of D. melanogaster was studied cytologically to determine the effects of the otu gene mutation in the oogenesis of the species. The germarium of the otu1 mutant is larger compared to the normal fertile germarium and contains many undifferentiated tumour cells resembling cystocytes.
