Pathogen elimination of potato seeds by using electron-treatment

Pathogen elimination of potato seeds by using electron-treatment

Agrarforschung 8(11/12): 477-481

The accelerated electron treatment of the epidermis of potato tubers did not eliminate the two pathogens (of latent or adhesive forms) found on the skin. Spore bales of powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea) did not lose their vitality after the treatment. Tubers were inoculated with Erwinia chrysanthemi populations before the electron treatment. Differences between the control and electron-treated tubers were not observed.
