Performance of wheat (Triticum aestivum) varieties to seeding dates under late sown condition

A field experiment was conducted during the winter season of 1996-97, in Pusa, Bihar, India to find out suitable variety of wheat (T. aestivum) under irrigated late sown conditions. Sowing on 14 December favourably affected the growth and yield attributes, and was found optimum. As the sowing was delayed to 24 December and 3 January, there was reduction in yield to the extent of 17.7 and 30.8 per cent, respectively, than sowing on 14 December.
