Programme proposal for the control and eradication of bovine viral diarrhoea (BVD) at insemination centres, bull stations and bull-dam herds

Veterinarske Novice 28(11): 449-456

Data were obtained between 1997 and 2001 from 946 herds. In that period, bulls at AI stations and young bull stations were free of bovine viral diarrhoea. Of 307 herds breeding bull dams, 231 were classified as low risk whilst eradication programmes had to be installed at 76 herds. The programmes were based on systematic detection and culling of sero-positive animals.
