Quantitative analysis of beta -lactoglobulin A and B genetic variants in milk of cows beta -lactoglobulin AB throughout lactation

Quantitative analysis of beta -lactoglobulin A and B genetic variants in milk of cows beta -lactoglobulin AB throughout lactation

Journal of Dairy Research 69(4): 651-654

The objective of this study is to verify the possible interaction between these effects of beta -lactoglobulin ( beta -lg) gene polymorphism and stage of lactation on the expression of A and B variant proteins in milk samples collected, at different times during lactation, from cows beta -lg AB. Results showed that there is no interaction between the effects of beta -lg polymorphism on milk protein composition and stage of lactation. The positive effects of beta -lg BB genotype on milk composition occurred throughout lactation.
