Resistance to Phytophthora infestans and Potato virus X (PVX) in wild potato species Solanum acaule Bitt. from the collection of N. I. Vavilov Research Institute of Plant Industry

Resistance to Phytophthora infestans and Potato virus X (PVX) in wild potato species Solanum acaule Bitt. from the collection of N. I. Vavilov Research Institute of Plant Industry

Plant Breeding and Seed Science 44(2): 81-86

The wild species S. acaule, represented by 15 accessions of VIR's collection, was evaluated for resistance to P. infestans in detached leaflet assay and to potato virus X (PVX) by mechanical inoculation and visual observations combined with serological evaluation. All plants of accessions tested for P. infestans resistance were distributed in two classes as resistant or susceptible ones. Moderately resistant individuals were not noted.
