The basic components of the disease (Exserohilum turcicum are overall disease damage (score), length, width and area of the lesion, number of lesions, number of flecks and lodging. The overall disease damage (score) is considered to embrace or integrate all the components of the plant response. The damaged leaf area reflects the spread of the disease, while the fleck number reflects the hypersensitive reaction.
