Role of variability for improvement in chickpea

Thirty six genetically diverse chickpea genotypes were evaluated for genotypic and phenotypic variabilities, heritability and genetic advance in 16 quantitative attributes in Pantnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India Highest genotypic variability was expressed by 100-seed weight followed by seed yield per plant, biological yield, secondary branches per plant and seeds per plant.
