An experiment was conducted during the spring-summer and rainy season crops of okra Parbhani Kranti during 2001 in Jammu and Kashmir, India to determine the optimum stage of seed harvest. Fruit weight, fruit length and number of seed of developing fruits gradually increased and reached maximum at 18 and 24 days after anthesis and decreased thereafter. A simultaneous increase in 100-seed weight and vigour index was also observed.
