Seed germination of sulfonylurea-resistant Scirpus juncoides Roxb. var. ohwianus T. Koyama at low temperature

S. juncoides var. ohwianus plants were sampled from eight sulfonylurea-resistant and six sulfonylurea-susceptible populations in rice fields in Hokkaido and Tohoku (Honshu), Japan. To investigate germination performance at low temperatures, tests were conducted under several germinant conditions using S. juncoides var. ohwianus seeds from the 14 populations in 1998, and in 1999, from 4 populations (3 resistant and one susceptible).
