Seedling growth and their field performance of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) using cut pieces of the tuberous roots

Seedling growth and their field performance of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) using cut pieces of the tuberous roots

Report of the Kyushu Branch of the Crop Science Society of Japan (68): 77-81

In sweet potatoes grown from tuber pieces, tuber sprouting was decreased or not affected by application of plant hormones. Sprouting increased over a period of up to 40 days with about 80% sprouting after 80 days. Rate of sprouting differed with cultivar.
