Serologic survey of bovine leukosis virus infection in the Patagonia region

A serological survey of bovine leukosis was conducted in 406 animals from 21 beef herds and 10 dairy herds in Patagonia using agar-gel immunodiffusion test (AGID) and blocking ELISA. All beef herds and 9 of 10 dairy herds were negative to both tests. The prevalence of bovine leukosis in one dairy herd from vicinity of Viedma city was 52.8 and 28.7% using ELISA and AGID test, respectively.
