Serum progesterone and oestradiol-17 beta profiles following treatment with norgestomet ear implant in indigenous postpartum anoestrous cows

Serum progesterone and estradiol-17 beta levels before and after treatment with norgestomet ear implant were studied in postpartum anoestrus cows. 20 non-descript indigenous cows within 90 days of parturition were divided into 2 groups (treatment and control). Norgestomet implant (3 mg) was placed at the base of the ear of treatment group animals, followed by an intramuscular injection (2 ml) of norgestomet and estradiol valerate (5 mg).
