Spreading the distribution of an exotic ragweed beetle, Ophraella communa LeSage (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), in Japan

The ragweed beetle, O. communa, was found in Chiba Prefecture in August 1996 for the first time in Japan. The beetle severely damaged the ragweed, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, and expanded its distribution rapidly.
