Structure and seasonal dynamics of the community ectoparasites in the bank vole in the Ilmen-Volkhov lowland

Structure and seasonal dynamics of the community ectoparasites in the bank vole in the Ilmen-Volkhov lowland

Parazitologiya 36(6): 433-446

The biodiversity, seasonal dynamics number of ectoparasites in bank voles (Clethrionomys glareolus) from coniferous and mixed forests in the Ilmen-Volkhov lowland (near Oskuy village, Chudovo, Novgorod Province, Russia) were studied. During the period June 1999-May 2002, a total of 1405 bank voles were trapped. 29 ectoparasite species were recorded during the study period (fleas, 8; lice, 1; ixodid ticks, 2; gamasid mites, 7; and acariform mites, 7).
