Studies on vegetative growth, oil yield and quality parameters of lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) cultivars

Four cultivars (clone-29, LS-48, CKP-25 and Cauvery) of lemongrass (C. flexuosus) grown in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, India during 1999/2000 were evaluated for vegetative growth (plant height, number of tillers and leaves per plant, and weight per plant), oil yield and quality parameters (oil content, optical rotation, refractive index at 30 degrees C and citral content). Significant variation was observed for all the parameters evaluated in the various cultivars.
