Study on differences in nitrogen nutrition between winter wheat varieties in response, uptake to nitrogen and associated depletion of soil nitrate

Study on differences in nitrogen nutrition between winter wheat varieties in response, uptake to nitrogen and associated depletion of soil nitrate

Scientia Agricultura Sinica 35(6): 667-672

ISSN/ISBN: 0578-1752

The response, N uptake and associated depletion of soil nitrate of six winter wheat varieties were studied using the nitrogen response index (NRI), which is the determined value of nitrogen-fertilized treatment divided by the determined value of a non-N fertilizer treatment. Results indicated that the NRI differences for dry matter production, N concentration and N uptake rate were significant among varieties even after N fertilizer addition. The NRI of straw was higher than that of grain.
