Data were obtained on 20 grade (to Holstein) Polish Black-and-White Lowland cows during 90 days after calving. All cows received a Total Mixed Ration (TMR, comprising ad libitum grass and maize silage plus concentrates), but 10 experimental cows were each allowed 3 kg of concentrates daily as a supplement to the TMR as a Part Mixed Ration (PMR).
