The effects of cotton pigment gland and gossypol on the growth and insecticide resistance of cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner)

The effects of cotton (Gossypium spp.) pigment gland and gossypol on the growth and development and insecticide resistance of H. armigera were studied. Cotton pigment glands had a significant inhibitory effect on the growth and development of cotton bollworms, and had an inducing effect on the resistance of the pest to insecticides.
