The effects of various dietary vitamin E levels on alpha-tocopherol in some tissues and on rearing performance of broiler chickens

The effects of various dietary vitamin E levels on alpha-tocopherol in some tissues and on rearing performance of broiler chickens

Roczniki Naukowe Zootechniki 29(1): 211-218

The effects of supplementing poultry with above-standard amounts of vitamin E on the basic indicators of fattening performance, alpha-tocopherol content of some tissues, and keeping quality of abdominal fat were investigated. In a feeding trial with 240 Arbor Acres broilers, vitamin E supplements to the diets ranged from 5 to 100 mg/kg. With the higher vitamin E supplements, the chickens were characterized by slightly better weight gains and feed conversion.
