Four draught animal (ox) power (DAP) weeders were tested during the second rainy season of 2000 and the first rainy season of 2001 in Uganda to determine the effects of ox-weeding on the labour use, labour costs and returns under the Teso farming system in the country. Sorghum was planted during 2000 whereas groundnuts were planted during 2001. All four DAP weeders tested reduced the labour and costs required for weeding sorghum and groundnuts.
