The treatment of anoestrus and suboestrus in dairy cattle and heifer using a progesterone releasing intravaginal device (PRID)

Veteriner Bilimleri Dergisi 17(3): 129-134

This study was conducted to determine the effect of a progesterone-releasing intravaginal device (PRID) on anoestrus and suboestrus cows and heifers. PRID was administered for 10 days to 8 heifers and 12 cows. A single injection of 500 micro g cloprostenol, a PGF2 alpha analogue, was given on the day of PRID removal. The animals were inseminated 48, 72 and 96 h after PRID removal.
