UK outbound

UK outbound

Travel and Tourism Analyst ( 1): 19-39

The UK outbound travel market in the 1990s has been shaped by seismic shifts in economic and consumer confidence. In 1991, the recession and the Gulf War limited the number of visits abroad to a modest 30.8 million, a 1.3% decrease on the previous year. By 1998 this figure had swollen to 50.9 million, with the annual rate of growth exceeding 9% for the second year running.
