Vegetative compatibility groups in both Fusarium oxysporum non-pathogenic to common bean and F. oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli

Vegetative compatibility groups in both Fusarium oxysporum non-pathogenic to common bean and F. oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli

Fitopatologia Brasileira 24(4): 546-548

The variability and genetic relationship between non-pathogenic F. oxysporum (FO) and pathogenic F. oxysporum f.sp. phaseoli (Fop), 22 nit mutant Fop isolates, and 56 Fo isolates were assessed. The vegetative compatibility between isolates was evaluated by observing mutant pairing in a minimum medium. Of the Fop isolates, 14 belonged to the same vegetative compatibility group (VCG), suggesting a common geographical origin.
