Yield losses and management of root rot of castor incited by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid

Yield losses and management of root rot of castor incited by Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid

Indian Journal of Plant Protection 26(2): 159-163

Experiments were conducted during the kharif season of 1994 in Andhra Pradesh, India to determine the effect of root rot caused by M. phaseolina at different stages of castor bean growth. In addition, the economic losses due to the disease and its in vitro management using carbendazim, thiophanate-methyl, captan, thiram, Trichoderma viride, T. harzianum and Gliocladium virens were studied. All the growth yield parameters were adversely affected by M. phaseolina.
